Salt Lake City Landlords Required to Provide Recycling

Multi-family properties in Salt Lake City, Utah are required to have recycling program according to a 2018 ordinance.

According to the city's sustainability department, any businesses or multi-family units producing four cubic yards of waste every week must have a recycling program. These two entities create 50% of Salt Lake City’s waste. The city has a goal of becomine 100% waste free by 2040 where everything is recycled, reused, or composted.

Tenants of multi-family units who do not yet have access to recycling can fill out an anonymous form to aid in the progress.
