Stafford County, Va. residents now have a dedicated location to drop off e-waste thanks to students from Stafford Middle School.

Leo Club members built a 8-by-10-foot wooden shed at R-Board’s Regional Landfill to house computers, phones, cartridges and other waste. Club members will volunteer their time to separate and sort the waste to ship to local recyclers and purchasers.

Money collected from the sale of these discarded items will be filtered back into the community. The group already has been diverting e-waste from landfills, using proceeds from sales of items to feed families over the holiday season.
