Advanced Disposal Acquires Southland Sanitation in Columbia, S.C.

Jacksonville, Fla.-based Advanced Disposal Services has completed its acquisition of SSI Southland Holdings Inc., the parent company of Southland Sanitation LLC, which serves approximately 56,000 homes and 1,675 businesses in the Columbia, S.C. area.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The purchase marks Advanced Disposal’s first foray into South Carolina and means that the company now has operations in seven states. “This represents another milestone for our company and is a direct result of the dedication and hard work of Advanced Disposal employees,” said Charlie Appleby, CEO of Advanced Disposal, in a statement. “As we start to build a foundation in South Carolina, we will provide additional financial capital, safety and training resources, as well as a commitment to cleaner, greener communities.”
