Allied Waste to Sell Florida Operations

Scottsdale, Ariz. – Allied Waste Industries Inc. has agreed to sell its northern and central Florida operations to Capital Environmental Resource Inc. for approximately $120 million. The operations represent approximately $90 million in annual revenues and include collection, transfer and recycling operations, and two landfills, according to the company.

Allied expects to use proceeds from the sale to complete its asset divestiture program, which is consistent with is original financing plan for 3002, the company states.
