EPA Posts New Landfill Permit Rule

Washington -- This past week, the Environmental Protection Agency published the Research, Development and Demonstration (RD&D) Permits for Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) Landfills rule in The Federal Register. The rule provides for approved states to waive specific landfill design and operational criteria, in hopes of developing “new technologies and alternative operational processes” for MSW landfills, the Washington-D.C.-based EPA states.
