The former chief operating officer of the Solid Waste Authority of Central Ohio has sued the agency and Executive Director Ty Marsh, arguing his termination and that of other workers older than 50 shows a pattern of age discrimination.
Rick Dodge, who also had been interim executive director for seven months in 2013, in a Feb. 16 lawsuit in Franklin County Common Pleas Court accused Marsh of orchestrating a "major shakeup of the older executive leadership of SWACO." The complaint said seven who lost jobs were over 50, and listed five of them.
SWACO denies the allegations and will defend the lawsuit, staff attorney Rebecca Egelhoff said, but otherwise won't comment.
