New York – A report that surveyed waste management companies and city agencies is reporting that the number of natural-gas-powered garbage trucks on the roads in the United States will rise from today’s figure of 693 to 2,200 by 2010. The report, which was partially funded by the U.S. Energy Department, Washington, D.C., says approximately 90 percent of garbage trucks in use today are diesel-fueled.
