Cincinnati –- Co-owner and co-president of Rumpke Consolidated Companies Inc., Thomas Rumpke, died on Jan. 4 from cancer. He was 63. The company was founded by the Rumpke family in 1932, when it then-owned one landfill in Carthage, Ohio. Today, the company’s services also include waste collection, hauling, disposal and recycling companies.

Thomas Rumpke graduated from Cincinnati-based Xavier University. Survivors include his wife Mary, daughter Melissa Krieger and sons: Todd Rumpke, Mark Rumpke, Matthew Rumpke and 13 grandchildren.
