Residential Operations Superintendent

City of Killeen, Texas (population 86,911) is accepting applications for a Residential Operations Superintendent. This position reports to the Director of Solid Waste. Will manage 25 employees in the Residential Operations section, providing solid waste collection services to approximately 30,000 households. Responsible for transporting approximately 36,000 tons of waste annually to the Transfer Station; transports recyclables to market as required. Responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating, and directing the activities of an organization providing solid waste services to residents. The ideal candidate must demonstrate strong communication, leadership and organizational skills. Requires graduation from a two-year college or technical school with emphasis in Solid Waste Management or Environmental Studies and five years of supervisory experience in solid waste operations. Education can be substituted for up to three years of solid waste management experience. Upon hire, must acquire and maintain a Class B Solid Waste Technician Letter of Competency from the Texas Natural Resource Conservation Commission. Must possess or obtain a valid Texas State Class B Driver’s License by date of hire. Salary: $3,032. Deadline: Open until filled.
