Meridian Waste Celebrates Earth Day and the Easter Season on April 9

WHO:  Meridian Waste North Carolina LLC,  an integrated, non-hazardous solid waste services company, celebrates the spring holidays combining Earth Day and the Easter season with family-friendly activities for all ages on Saturday, April 9. 

WHAT/WHY:  Meridian Waste North Carolina is welcoming springtime at the Shotwell Landfill by inviting neighbors, local schools, non-profits, and civic organizations to the company’s environmental facility while sharing appreciation with the surrounding community.

“Our Shotwell Landfill, soon to be renamed Shotwell Environmental Park, hosts many public events. We are inviting the community to visit and learn about the vital recycling and disposal work performed onsite while having a fun time in the great outdoors,” said Josh Daher, Meridian Waste’s North Carolina Area President.  “Springtime is a wonderful season in the Triangle area, and the opportunity to celebrate both Earth Day and Easter with our neighbors and community members is a special occasion,” he said. 

Activities will include Meridian Waste’s signature Touch-A-Truck display, where attendees can touch the trucks and heavy machinery used in the environmental services industry. Other activities will include:

  • Free lunch for all attendees

  • Egg hunts for children from ages two to four, five to seven, and eight to ten

  • Inflatable bounce house and obstacle course

  • Face painting

  • Egg painting

  • Reusable Earth Day Easter bags for the children
