Memphis, Mo. – The Missouri Department of Natural Resources, Jefferson City, now permits all Missouri property owners who report illegal tire dumping on their property to receive a discount on removal costs. Property owners will pay approximately 10 percent of current removal fees under the condition that they have more than 500 and fewer than 20,000 passenger tires. Under the state’s offer, truck tires count as five passenger tire equivalents. The cleanup effort is partially funded by the state’s 50-cent per tire waste tire fee.
