Albany, N.Y. -- The New York State Assembly has passed a bill requiring wireless phone vendors to accept and recycle any phones they sell to consumers. The legislation's purpose was to provide consumers a free outlet for recycling their cell phones. The law also would prohibit disposal or incineration of wireless phones. The bill passed with a unanimous vote.
