Pittsburgh --The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) has announced that Greenridge Waste Services, E. Huntingdon Township, Pa., paid $35,000 for more than 16 documented environmental violations at the Greenridge Reclamation Landfill. According to reports, trucks entering the landfill did not meet state safety and environmental regulations. Violations included sewage sludge caked to the truck bodies, overweight trucks and exposed loads of waste. The trucks were owned by BFI Waste Services of Pennsylvania, Allied Waste Services, Scottsdale, Ariz., Republic Waste Services, Massillon, Ohio, and Greenridge Waste Services.
