San Diego – A presentation March 21 at the Environmental Industry Summit by John J. Quirk of Morgan Joseph & Co., a New York-based investment bank, indicates a brighter investment future for waste management companies. Quirk reported that his firm is working with several private equity firms eager to invest in landfill and collection companies and that the black cloud that has been over major companies in the past few years is lifting. He also reported that waste management is attractive to private equity investors because it is relatively stable compared to other businesses and because it is better understood now than it was a few years ago.
