Santec, Waste Connections Sued Over Death of Homeless Woman

Relatives of 57-year-old Annette Montero, who died after being crushed in her sleep, is suing Santec and parent company Waste Connections.

On Aug. 26, 2019, Montero was sleeping in her red sleeping bag next to a food bank. The sanitation driver emptied some bins near the food bank, then proceeded to back up.

According to the suit, after maneuvering to get out of the parking lot, the driver ran over the woman and proceeded to drive away without checking what he had hit.
