Phoenix-based Recycle America Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Houston-based Waste Management Inc., has expanded its eCycling infrastructure through a partnership with E-Recycling of Southern California (ERSC). Recycle America will offer electronics recycling services through its Asset Recovery Group, and ERSC will open an electronics demanufacturing facility in Los Angeles County. Recycle America also will market the products and components produced by the new facility.

The National Association for PET Container Resources (NAPCOR), Charlotte, N.C., has transferred ownership of PETE's Big Bin, a collection container made from 100 percent recycled polyethylene terephthalate (PET) plastic to Recycled Plastics Marketing (RPM), Redmond, Wash.

The New York State chapter of the Solid Waste Association of North America (NY SWANA) has issued a call for abstracts for its Federation of New York Solid Waste Association Conference, to be held in Lake George, N.Y., from May 4-7, 2003. Cummins Inc., Columbus, Ind., has achieved certification for its medium-duty ISB engine from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Washington, D.C., for new October 2002 emissions requirements.

Rutland, Vt.-based Casella Waste Systems Inc. has reported 2003 first quarter revenue of $115.9 million, compared with revenue of $112.3 million for the same quarter last year, and pro forma net income of $2.6 million, compared with pro forma net income of $2.4 million for the same quarter last year.

Warrenville, Ill.-based Navistar International Corp. has reported a net loss of $16 million for the third quarter of 2002, compared with net income of $2 million for the same quarter last year. Sales stayed about the same at $1.6 billion for the quarter.

Peoria, Ill.-based Caterpillar Inc. has reported sales and revenues of $5.29 billion for the second quarter of 2002, $197 million lower than sales and revenue for the same quarter last year. Profits were $200 million, $71 million lower than profits for the same quarter last year.

The Harrisburg, Pa.-based Pennsylvania Waste Industries Association (PWIA) has launched its website, www.pawasteindustries.org, to provide a central clearinghouse for information about the waste industry in Pennsylvania.

International Truck and Engine Corp., Warrenville, Ill., has relaunched its website, www.internationaldelivers.com.

Ari-Hetra Mobile Lifting Systems, a division of Automotive Resources Inc., Fairfax, Va., has expanded its product line with the Ari Exhaust Division in response to new diesel regulations.

Van Dyk Baler Corp., Stamford, Conn., has opened a southwest territory sales office in Houston.

Peterbilt Motors Co., Denton, Texas, has opened TransDiff Peterbilt de Quebec, a full-service dealership outside of Quebec City, Quebec, Canada. The company also has added three locations to its dealership network in Wyoming — Cheyenne, Casper and Rock Springs.

The Sunbeam Landfill, owned by Houston-based Waste Management Inc. subsidiary Waste Management of Florida Inc., Jacksonville, Fla., has been sold to Atlanta-based Brownfield Properties LLC. The site's new owners plan to create an 18-hole golf course community.

Braintree, Mass.-based Clean Harbors Inc. has completed the sale of Columbia, S.C.-based Safety-Kleen Corp.'s chemical services division and has secured $260 million in financing.

City Carton Recycling, Iowa City, Iowa, has purchased the recycling assets of Paper Recovery Co. (PRC), Cedar Rapids.
