Acquisitions

  • Casella Waste Systems Inc., Rutland, Vt., has acquired All-Waste Services, Lebanon, N.H., for approximately $4.3 million. All-Waste provides waste and recycling collection and hauling services for customers in Lebanon, N.H.; White River Junction, Vt.; and Bellows Falls, Vt.

  • Oakleaf Waste Management, East Hartford, Conn., has acquired American Waste Solutions, Valhalla, N.Y. As part of the acquisition, Mark Bonistall, founder of American Waste Solutions, will join Oakleaf as vice president of the national sales division.

Agreements

  • Federal Signal Corp., Oak Brook, Ill., will integrate Peoria, Ill.-based Caterpillar Inc.'s Position-Sensing Cylinder and controller used in an automated side loader arm. The new PSC cylinder was introduced at WasteExpo 2003 on Wittke's Crocodile ASL arm. The company says more initiatives are forthcoming.

Corrections

  • In the carts and lifters product survey [May 2003, pages 80-84], Waste Age incorrectly identified Los Angeles-based Rehrig Pacific Co.'s products as carts and misspelled the company's name. The products are cans or containers. Waste Age regrets the errors.

Internet

  • The Heavy Duty Manufacturers Association (HDMA) has posted a survey to gather information from fleet managers and owner-operators to provide to manufacturers. Visit www.research.net/trucks.
