Acquisitions
Eastern Organic Resources, Wrightstown, N.J., has acquired Woodhue Ltd., an organics recycling, composting and soil blending facility also located in Wrightstown.
World Waste Services Inc., Miami, has acquired three new companies: Busy Bee, Better Waste Management, and Garbage, Roll-off, Demolition, all three of which are located in Miami.
Capital Environmental Resource Inc., Burlington, Ontario, has completed a series of acquisitions in Arizona consisting of a landfill, a transfer station and collection company.
Grants
The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ), Portland, is expected to receive $400,000 in Brownfields assessments grant money from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Washington, D.C., to assess sites with environmental problems in rural and economically distressed communities throughout Oregon.
Merger
The Washington, D.C.-based Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries' Southwestern and Northern California chapters have merged to form the new West Coast chapter, comprising California, Nevada, Hawaii and Baja, Mexico.
New Offices
Heil Environmental Industries, Chattanooga, Tenn., has updated the Heil Institute of Technology in Fort Payne, Ala.
Hansen International, Lexington, S.C., has moved into a new 130,000-square-foot facility.
