Pottstown, Pa. -- Pennsylvania’s Department of Environmental Protection has rejected a request by Houston-based Waste Management Inc. (WM) to expand the 276-acre landfill in Pottstown, Pa. WM had applied for a vertical expansion, but according to DEP Secretary, Kathleen McGinty, the landfill’s life expectancy is too short.
