Canusa Hershman Recycling Co. (CHRC) has acquired certain assets of plastics recycler First State Plastics Inc. of New Castle, Del.

The Baltimore-based CHRC purchased a 98,000-sq.-ft. facility that houses post-industrial plastic grinding operations, a warehouse and office space as well as processing equipment and trucks, the company said in a news release. No purchase price was disclosed.

CHRC said the acquisition of these assets will expand its Plastics Division’s presence in the Mid-Atlantic region.
“Our plastics business has grown significantly over the past few years,” said Ethan Hershman, CEO of CHRC. “We are excited about the addition of this new facility and expanding the services we can offer existing and future customers.”
CHRC and its affiliates market more than 2.5 million tons of recyclables annually, including more than 10 million pounds per month of post-industrial plastic.
