Emerald Waste Services, Freeport, Fla., has acquired 77 municipal solid waste collection routes and 17 commercial routes across 16 municipalities in north and central Florida from Houston-based Waste Management. The transaction also included the sale of a Waste Management transfer station in Gainesville, Fla.
"In two and a half years, we have successfully built an outstanding business that is well positioned to benefit from the future growth of the region," said Bart Begley, CEO of Emerald Waste, in a press release. "[This] acquisition is an important strategic milestone as we continue to build our [municipal solid waste] operations, both in disposal and collection."
