Emerald Waste Acquires Waste Management Assets in Central Florida

Emerald Waste Services, Freeport, Fla., has acquired 77 municipal solid waste collection routes and 17 commercial routes across 16 municipalities in north and central Florida from Houston-based Waste Management. The transaction also included the sale of a Waste Management transfer station in Gainesville, Fla.

"In two and a half years, we have successfully built an outstanding business that is well positioned to benefit from the future growth of the region," said Bart Begley, CEO of Emerald Waste, in a press release. "[This] acquisition is an important strategic milestone as we continue to build our [municipal solid waste] operations, both in disposal and collection."
