Scientists Find 2,000 Plastic Bags Inside of a Camel

Plastic pollution is an ongoing issue and it’s not limited to the ocean. Researchers in Dubai have found 300 camels in the region that have died from eating trash. In the camel’s stomachs were a mass of approximately 2,000 plastic bags.

After ingesting the bags, the animals are unable to digest them. They cause ulcers, discomfort and the feeling that they are full all the time and it results in intestinal bleeding, blockages, dehydration, malnutrition and death.
