Bill Heenan Jr., president of the Steel Recycling Institute (SRI), has stepped down for health reasons. Heenan’s replacement is Gregory Crawford, who will serve as executive director of the institute.

“Bill’s service to the steel industry over the last four decades will have an impact at least that far into the future,” said Lawrence W. Kavanagh, president of the Steel Market Development Institute, in a press release. “Building SRI froom the ground up and establishing steel as the world’s most recycled material together are tremendous career accomplishments for one individual.”

Previously, Crawford was vice president of SRI’s operations.
