John Skinner, the executive director and CEO of the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA), has been elected to the International Solid Waste Association’s (ISWA) Board of Directors. ISWA works “to promote and develop sustainable waste management practices worldwide,” according to a SWANA press release.

Skinner will serve a two-year term on the 11-member board.

“ISWA is at a critical time in its history,” Skinner said in a statement. “More and more countries are seeking national membership; our opinion is sought out and respected; and our future is filled with great opportunity. I am enthusiastic to lend my efforts to help guide that future and to make SWANA’s involvement in ISWA more beneficial to SWANA members.”
