A new report by the North Carolina Department of Environment and Natural Resources says that recycling jobs in the state’s private sector have increased by nearly 5 percent since 2008. The report found that there are about 15,200 private-sector recycling jobs in North Carolina.

Among it’s other findings, the study found that the total annual payroll for the state’s recycling firms is $395 million and that nearly half — 48 percent, to be exact — of the private recycling firms surveyed said they plan to add jobs during the next two years.
