Charles City County will recoup $1.5 million in lost revenue from Waste Management dumping less trash in the county landfill than stipulated in the contract.
A lawsuit settlement reached last month also includes an addendum to the contract reducing the required average daily tonnage from 2,000 to 1,500.
The county sued the Texas-based company in October 2013 as the average 2,000 tons per day promised in their 27-year-old contract decreased.
