Flint, Mich., Mayor Appeals Recall Efforts to Remove Her as Mayor
This action follows a lengthy trash hauler debate, which ultimately ended in Republic Services receiving a one-year hauling contract with the City of Flint.

Flint, Mich., Mayor Karen Weaver paid $175 on March 17 to appeal the approved recall language over the city’s ongoing trash debate. If the language, which was submitted by Flint resident Art Woodson and approved earlier this month by the Genesee County Election Commission, makes it through the court, Woodson would still have to get approximately 5,800 signatures to put the recall on the ballot.
This action follows a lengthy trash hauler debate, which ultimately ended in Republic Services receiving a one-year hauling contract with the City of Flint.

Flint Mayor Karen Weaver has appealed recall efforts against her, court records show.
According to records, Weaver paid $175 on Friday, March 17, to appeal the recall language over the city's controversial Rizzo trash issue.
Genesee Circuit Judge Geoffrey Neithercut will oversee the case.
