NWRA Welcomes Jon Kyl Back to the Senate

The National Waste & Recycling Association (NWRA) welcomes Sen. Jon Kyl (R-Ariz.) back to the United States Senate. He was sworn in yesterday to fill the seat held by the late Sen. John McCain. Following an absence of six years, Kyl was appointed by Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey.

“Senator Kyl is renowned for his breadth and depth of knowledge across several policy areas,” said Darrell Smith, NWRA president and CEO, in a statement. “Arizona, the headquarters of Republic Services, which is one of the largest companies in the waste and recycling industry, is fortunate to have him representing them in the U.S. Senate.”

According to NWRA, Kyl brings a wealth of experience with him back to the Senate. In addition to having served previously in the Senate leadership, Kyl was a member of the Senate Finance and Judiciary committees.
