Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt, President Donald Trump’s nominee to head the Environmental Protection Agency, was cleared by the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee and will now be voted on by the full Senate. Pruitt was approved by an 11-0 vote by all Republicans with Democratic senators boycotting the vote.
A recent analysis revealed that Pruitt said he was “not familiar” with topics ranging to landfills, coal ash, marine plastic or environmental justice. WasteDive analyzed a 242-page document of Pruitt’s answers to questions posed by senators.
