A 2013 lawsuit filed by the owners of the Chrin Bros. landfill against Williams Township was settled this week, bringing a $1.2 million payment to the township in exchange for several provisions, including elimination of a landfill business privilege tax.

The settlement was approved in a 2-1 vote by the township supervisors Wednesday.

Township solicitor Jonathan Reiss said the settlement was reached during a pretrial conference April 2 in Northampton County Court. A trial had been set for April 20.
