Waste Management Purchases MedServe Assets

Houston-based WM Healthcare Solutions Inc. has acquired certain assets of MedServe Inc. a medical waste handling firm, from Stericycle Inc. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. WM Healthcare Solutions is a subsidiary of Waste Management.

The facilities acquired by WM Healthcare Solutions include an autoclave treatment facility Newton, Kan., and transfer stations in Kansas City, Kan.; Oklahoma City; Omaha, Neb.; and Booneville, Mo. “The purchase of MedServe's treatment facility and transfer stations will allow us to provide an increased level of service options for our customers in these states,” said David Aardsma, senior vice president of sales and marketing for Waste Management, in a press release.
