The city of Cleveland, Ohio plans to start its curbside recycling program in March following an unsuccessful bidding and negotiation process.
The city's original recycling contract ended in 2020 and still has not returned, causing confusion and dismay among its residents. Cleveland's new program allows residents to opt in. Those who choose not to will have their recycling bins once a new contract is in place.
About 27,000 of the 155,000 homes who receive trash services have signed up for the new program.
