Arlington, VA – The National Waste & Recycling Association (NWRA) Women's Council is proud to debut its children’s book, “Awesome Bodacious Clever ABC's Book of Waste and Recycling,” which illustrates the waste and recycling industry from a child's viewpoint. The book is one of many resources the Women's Council has produced to help build awareness of the waste and recycling industry.
“The Women’s Council is pleased to present this children’s book to help introduce and explain the waste and recycling industry to young readers and their families,” said Katie Raverty-Evans, government affairs representative of Best Way Disposal and vice president of the NWRA Women’s Council, who chaired the project. “Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, our customers have been tremendously supportive of waste collection workers, including young children waiting to wave to our drivers. We hope they enjoy this book and have a better understanding of our industry.”
The NWRA Women's Council's mission is to advance and promote the waste and recycling industry and give back to its member companies through education, networking, professional development and the award of academic scholarships. The council has also developed other industry resources including the “Where Does My Garbage Go?” coloring book and the Internship Toolkit.
