Researchers have found a method that will give new life to nanowires which are found in electronics.
NC State Ph.D students have published a paper describing the recycling technique. In a world where right-to-repair and e-waste are hot topics, this method takes into account the entire life cycle of a device.
According to the researchers, "nanowires can then be used to create a new network and incorporated into a new sensor or other devices."
The key to the process is "identifying a solvent with a low surface tension for use in breaking up the nanowire network."
