McMickle started as a LEED consultant helping project teams integrate sustainability practices. She became very interested in tracking construction waste management and assisting projects to excel in this area. McMickle realigned her career and got on board with the Department of Sanitation in New York City and did community outreach for their curbside brown bag program. She is passionate and effective at communicating waste issues and changing how companies approach their relationship to materials management. She also mentors young professionals and is a wealth of zero waste and recycling wisdom, and her passion shines through.
