Upstate Shredding Completes Buy of Scrap Metal Firm Hornell Waste

Upstate Shredding - Ben Weitsman has completed its purchase of the assets of scrap metal firm Hornell Waste Material Co., continuing its expansion through the Northeast.

The Owego-based Upstate Shredding bought the Hornell, N.Y.-based Hornell Waste for an undisclosed amount, according to a news release. The deal was originally announced last September.

The company is located in a region under-served by recycling infrastructure, Upstate Shredding said.

The purchase gives Upstate Shredding’s 15  locations.
