Waste reduction distributor Craft Equipment Co. has acquired American Waste Control of Florida (AWC) for an undisclosed amount.

The Tampa, Fla.-based Craft said in a news release said the purchase of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based AWC, which sells, services and installs all waste reduction equipment, including balers and compactors, will strengthen Craft’s operations in the four southernmost counties of Florida, which includes Miami.

“This acquisition will benefit both companies,” said Donald Mays Jr., Craft President and CEO. “American Waste Control, under (president) John Sobota’s leadership, brings to Craft special skills that will enhance our effectiveness in the Miami market, and Craft will bring to AWC our expertise and the ability to service other types of equipment.”

Craft focuses on the southern states and also distributes material handling and construction specialty equipment.
